Don't Give Up, Give More!!

As someone who has worked to create a successful entrepreneurship, I acknowledge that it is hard work. While many of us believe that being our own boss will afford us the luxury of being able to set our own hours and to be able to have multiple vacations. The truth of the matter is that it's probably even more work and more time consuming than it is to punch a clock somewhere else. It is not easy to be a business owner. It involves a lot of stress, time, money, and work. The difference, for me, though is that it's better to work for oneself than it is to give your blood, sweat, and tears to someone else's dream. Certainly, not everyone is cut out to be a business owner.

If you choose to become a business owner, please know it requires a commitment. Your name and reputation are on the line every day. With that being said, you have to be willing to show up every single day with dedication to make things happen. That dedication is indispensable because it demands your time, energy, and resources. Your reservoir needs to be deep and sustainable. I'm pointing this out because often, we have a desire to be successful, but run out of the energy to make that happen. So how do you get the energy you need and how do you maintain it?

Among the many things that create your energy level is alignment and harmony of the multi-aspects of your life; self, family, work, and community. That being said, there are things that zap your energy when something is out of balance and these areas are not in alignment. Additionally, there are at least four facets of "self" that we need to make sure are in harmony and alignment; mind, body, spirit, and soul. God gives each one of us three things when we are created; passion, purpose, and a plan. It is up to us to discover and access these gifts, talents, and skills. The only way to do that is to be in relationship with God and to have open dialogue with Him. This is critical if you wish to find yourself on the journey that God has set forth for you. Any other path is going to prolong your ability to find and walk in your purpose.

When you find yourself on a path and you are not sure how you got there, it's time to recalculate. You have been distracted and misguided. Don't get discouraged and stuck. Don't give up. Give more - more time and attention to your relationship with God. Sit quietly and meditate on His word. It's time to focus and get back on track. Go back to the basics. Get close to God and take the time out to commune with Him and to listen to the direction and guidance He is giving you. As you listen carefully and ask Him for His divine guidance, He will make your crooked paths straight; you just have to be willing to follow Him. When you find yourself stuck and unable to determine which direction to turn to, ask Him. He will gladly turn you around and put you on the path to your destiny. You can get there much more quickly if you don't give up, but rather, you give more!

Peace, love & blessings
